La Chaumière hotel in Normandy

Between the beaches and the cliffs

Our beachfront hotel is the ideal home base to explore the coast of Normandy. Located in Honfleur, where the Côte Fleurie meets the Côte d'Albâtre, it offers a vast selection of places to explore. Normandy's coastline extends along 640 km. From Le Tréport to Cancale, it features a seemingly endless series of attractive beaches and spectacular cliffs.
Take full advantage of the sea to enjoy a full range of water sports.

The Côte d'Albâtre

This colourful coast traces an endless line of white chalk between the deep blue of the English Channel and the bright green of the Caux plateau. From the first heights at the edge of Le Havre to Dieppe, the coast alternates between cliffs and deep valleys which are home to ports, beaches and resorts.
During your stay at La Chaumière, don't miss a visit to Etretat (45 minutes by car). Its cliffs stand 85 m above the sea, framed to the west by the gigantic Manneporte arch, shining in the sunlight. The town inspired artists including Corot, Courbet, Monet, Maupassant, Leblanc, Gide, and Offenbach.

The Côte Fleurie

The prestigious Côte Fleurie stretches from Honfleur to Merville-Franceville. Our hotel, located between Honfleur and Deauville, invites you to discover historic seaside resorts from the glamorous era of sea baths, which remain treasured destinations for holidays and romantic weekends.
Deauville, with its international reputation, has maintained all the charm and elegance of the Belle Epoque. Its beach is doubtless the most prestigious in the Calvados region, and even in all of Normandy. Its little sister Trouville, home to a lively fishing port and an elegant resort, marries charm and authenticity. Farther along the coast, the majestic villas of Houlgate and Cabourg create a romantic atmosphere.

The D-Day Beaches

Visitors from around the world come to the beaches of Normandy to honour the memory of D-Day. From Sainte-Mère-Eglise in the Manche, the first town to be liberated, to the remains of the artificial harbour in Arromanches in Calvados, discover a land of history and freedom, where the beauty of the landscape contrasts sharply with the horrors of war.
The D-Day Beaches: Sword Beach, Juno Beach, Gold Beach, Omaha Beach and Utah Beach. Visit the Mémorial de Caen museum, a 50 minute drive from our boutique hotel in Honfleur.

Honfleur's pier

Just two hours from Paris, Normandy is a popular destination to explore natural and historic sites and get away from it all by the sea or in the countryside. The perfect spot for a romantic weekend or a family holiday.

Honfleur's port
